Shopper #1

Here, I shall with you people the things that I have bought or services that I have tried.
They are pretty much the simple things that students (*note: low budget*) can afford.
=D

I went to get this new gel eyeliner which I have never tried using before, gotten myself my favourite yet stinky shampoo and tried the most dreaded face threading. =D

Face Threading

Went to this shop in Chong Pang (*somewhere in little Yishun*) - SG Body Care. Was greeted by this really friendly lady from China who did the threading for us too. The threading was done in a dimly lit room. Well, of course there is light shining on my face!

I have heard so many people talking about how much threading hurts and there's really very little people who say that threading does not hurt! Perhaps many of you have always googled face threading and heard about the swelling/redness/breakouts. So, I tried to see if it's really true! I went first since my friend's really was afraid of the pain awaiting her! =D Laid down trembling! Oh, fyi, I have very low threshold for pain. Honestly, I can cry while having a jab and when I visit the dentist! No kidding!

So, the first blow! Awwww... It wasn't as bad as I thought! Actually, it isn't painful! I felt that the plucking of my eyebrows was painful! But not the threading. It was like, OMG! To think I always thought that threading is like so painful. Nope, it totally isn't! But well, that really depends on our skin and the hairs on our faces. But I really have alot of facial hair and they are thick! My eyebrow hurt the most! But it was a pretty nice experience and I will sure do it again! After making sure that the threading is done properly with no facial hair left behind, she let me check my face and gave me this cold ball to calm my face.

I am using my logic here to explain the redness/swelling/breakouts and how the cold ball can calm the face. Because when the thread is used to pull the facial hair, the pores are open. So the pores are exposed to whatever dirt there are. So that explains the redness/swelling and the probability of having breakouts. And how the cold ball calm the face? I think most of you know that coldness closes the pores of your face while warm water/towel opens the pores of your face. And of course, if the breakout or even rashes continue for days after the threading, I think it's very much due to hygiene problems. =D But breakouts/redness/swelling can be tolerated for a night or a day. After that, my friend did threading.

Her comments? It hurt darn alot! There's also redness/slight swelling which was much better after the calming of the face with something clean and cold. But she said that it hurt because of the pimples on the face. So yeaps. A little more about the service. The lady did chat with us and offered us some opinions on keeping our faces clean and how my friend could draw her eyebrows. (*I super envy my friend for having such light color-ed eyebrows! It's much better than dark and bushy brows!*) She certainly did no hard-sell. She offered us this card with the prices of facials and stuff and told my friend that if one day she decide that drawing brows are tiring, she could look for her for eyebrow embroidering. And offered us tea. =D

Quite a pleasant lady. I seldom have good experiences with China chinese in Singapore. And her hospitality did remind me of the nice people I have met in Beijing, China! =D Pleasant!

Gel Eyeliner $22.90 that is bought from SASA

I have never tried gel eyeliner before and I have many bad experiences with the liquid eyeliner/pen eyeliner. So I saw this is SASA selling at quite a cheap price. It's made in japan and honestly, being the reckless shopper I am, I bought it upon seeing the nice eyes on the packaging. I know photoshop can do it! Hahas!

I always have problem with smudging eyeliner and the crappy lines I draw using the liquid liner on the lower lids. I won't be drawing on my eyes now because I have just cleaned my face! So I shall test if it smudges with rubbing or water.

It states on the packaging that it is resistant to perspiration, oil sebum, water and rubbing. It also contains seaweed extract for hydrating purposes. I can't really google on it because it's cursive writing of it's brand makes it hard to read. But it reads something like Miazkabull Eyeliner or something like that.

Okay. Smudge-proof? True. Water proof? True.
So how well it stays on the eyes will be proved in a few days time. =D Till then~

Jorubi Aloe Vera Cream

My sister uses this before for pimples and it's expensive! It costs $3.95 for this 10gm! Expensive! But it's really great! Everyone know the PROs of Aloe Vera cream! Like it's healing purposes. I got this to calm the swelling/redness/itch coming from the threading. It's great!

Superdrug Coconut and Almond Shampoo and Conditioner
This is another fabulous item! The shampoo and the conditioner is like awesome! Just tolerate the smell. But of course, if you love coconut, this is the one for you. I always have frizzy hair which I used to want to tame with rebonding. But, I can't do rebonding because my head's pretty small. And it would look very weird! So I tried taming my hair with hair products. Spotted this in Watsons! =D
My saviour! It's pretty expensive! =0( 2 dollar for a traveller sized bottle that last like a few washes only! I can't find the big bottles one! But it really tames my frizzy hair! And it's soft and manageable! GREAT! Totally recommended if you want tamed hair that's not all that flat and lifeless!

Lunch/Dinner at Xin Wang - Marina Square

This is the Eel porridge I shared with my friend. Honestly, it sucks. Have you eaten PastaMania's Unagi pasta? The eel and the "soup" taste like diluted unagi pasta. But the unagi/eel taste really bad. It isn't really fresh and it's like yucky! Really bad! Service wasn't fabulous too. And by service, I don't mean kneeling beside you while taking orders or giving recommendations when you see customer looking at the menu for hours. I mean smiling!

And this is the worst! I mean, having eaten fabulous red bean paste with mochi/dango, this is really horrible! The ice cream goes well with the red bean paste (*tried telling myself that*) and the mochi texture is pretty dead and it's pathetic. 3 20-cents sized mochi! I can make dozens of them with 3 dollars! Like really! Bad! The only thing I like was the Egg and Cheese sandwich! But I didn't take the picture of it!
