20th March

Happy Birthday (*if it's your birthday*)! May happiness comes your way and all around you!

Well, you see, I was browsing through my past blog entries and realized it's Torres's birthday so I decided to start this blogging habit. With each day, you will read about what happened in History (*from the History channel and my trusty wikipedia*) and who are you sharing your birthday with!

I am sure History Channel and Wikipedia won't mind me crediting them since I am just sharing knowledge with everyone! =D

So, today is the 20th March 2009! And that is the 79th day of 2009!

So what happened years ago on this day? (*Note: Will only be blogging about the ones that I am more familiar with*)

1602- The Dutch East India Company is established. Everyone should know this actually! Who doesn't know about the Dutch East India Company?!

1861- An earthquake completely destroys Mendoza, Argentina.(*Note: Sighs*)

1914- In New Haven, Connecticut, the first international figure skating championship takes place. (*Note: Ooooh! I love watching those elegant figure skaters!*)

1916- Albert Einstein publishes his general theory of relativity. (*Note: I am quite a physics geek! Have you ever wondered how these great people make their discoveries? Like how did the idea even crossed their mind? Perhaps we are all so contented with our lives that we just missed some detail in life that might be like contributing to a new discovery right? So cool!*)

1969- John Lennon and Yoko ono were married. (*Note: Happy 40 years anniversary!*)

1974- Ian Ball attempts, but fails, to kidnap Her Royal Highness Princess Anne and her husband Captain Mark Phillips in The Mall, outside Buckingham Palace, London. (*Note: Yays! Kidnap attempts failed! I love the idea of Princesses/Princes/King/Queen and the whole lot! Instead of President and all!*)

1982 - Tomasz Kuszczak, Polish footballer (*Some goal keeper from Man U. Not very happy to share your birthday with him eh?*)

1982 - José Moreira, Portuguese footballer

1984 - Fernando Torres, Spanish footballer (*Ah, need I say more? Happy? More than happy! =D *)

1987 - Daniel Maa Boumsong, Cameroonian football player

1987 - Patrick Boyle, Scottish footballer (*I kind of find this name very familiar*)

1987 - Pedro Ken, Brazilian footballer

1987 - Jô, Brazilian footballer
